practice with artistic practice Creation has thus become the result of continuous contamination among all the arts One of the starting points was also the realisation that at present the most advanced research on these topics is going forward particularly in Northern Europe our intention is to develop a discussion forum at the level of the Mediterranean countries as well At the heart of the project are young artists who thanks to the creation of a Euro Mediterranean network will have the opportunity to enrich their experience and to develop shared working and research practices The points of development are primarily productions In the first phase following an announcement of a competition at the European level 13 projects have been selected that respond best to issues regarding the contemporary scenario Production support is offered to the chosen projects through two main approaches on the one hand through a system of work residencies on the other through a European itinerary for the presentation of the works studies that will verify the evolution of the work periodically and publicly Chosen projects also receive a financial contribution to support the production In the second phase there a further 5 projects will be selected

on the slippery ground of their time and again failed relationship Being aware that it has nothing suprisingly new to add to the subject it chooses the emotionally expressive very very personal and highly aestheticised theatre poetry It cleans the story which it thus wishes to cnarrate from unbearable fatality of words from the coded dictionary of communication which is the most deceitful and also the most pitiless explainer of coordinates of the human mental vein system What is hidden behing the word then is the life itself The Scotsman Christopher Browen Not so Muzeum s conceptual theatre piece A Cricket in the Fist though frankly I wish i had a clu what the concept was in the first place Two performers three wardrobes a lot of books some strapped to their bodies a flying shirt and four or five minutes of tableaux vivants later and most of the audience where non of the wiser either Radio Student Klemen Fele Not a thing remains Cupboards are empty a shirt looses its body and sacrifical bunnies are offered A Cricket in Fist is an ambitious project in the positive meaning of the term If the Muzeum is conceived as a multiple relation to the abstract I can justly look forward to seeing their future productions Slovenske novice Simon Kardum A Cricket in Fist approaches in its phenomenality at least historical denotation of Modernists and Post Formalists from Appia and Craig to Kandinsky and Bauhaus in 1926 Andor Weininger succeeded with his Abstract Show to produce abstract theatre of course he got rid of actors Wilson Glass and Judson Dance Group to Fabre Maska Eda Čufer This is a work of immense sensual power of new acting sensibility but also a response to the mental patterns and psychological cliches of the theatre

stage of the National Drama Theatre in Ljubljana Delo Ženja Leiler With its prioduction Lo Scrittore The Muzeum theatre continues its journey into an utmost intimate and highly aestetic theatre poetry Dnevnik Petra Pogorevc The fascinating stage pictures which address us not with spoken words but with the carefully construed movements gestures and mimicry of the performers Barbara Novakovič created a singular and sensitive spectacle which at no time slips into complacency or pretentiousness but skilfully and persistently builds on the outlined contours of author s discernible stage poetics Utmost fascinating in short and amazingly pleasing Republika Karla Železnik A spectacle that functions without words and thus identifies even more with a written word a spectacle which is calm which is being born and lives accomplishes itself in the mind of the writer reminds of the open book while the female figures remind of enliven characters from books Tribuna Jedrt Jež After Neo and Avant garde strivings in the 80 s and 90 s and the antecedent political cleansing of theatre spectators fed up with the restrictions of dictated confining looks and spasmodic postures and chilly spaces as a reflection of the state of general spirit finally something completely different

and awkward world of men primarily fighters represented by three actors The main conceptual point of the staging however is the notion born from the interweaving of both directions of the tendencies of men and women All Emilias dance with all Napoleons They are in their arms physically but spiritually Emilias looks through Napoleons and past them to the idea of them which differs from the reality of their presence But even if this wish were fulfilled a new disappointment would follow and then a new longing once more All of this together with the stage which pulsates wonderfully with pictoral lighting and sombre colourfulness and particulary with the differentiation between the acting creations accomplished by both movement and voice results in a fascinating and extremely beautiful production with the single failure caused by the incongruous inarticulate and pallid final scene Fortunately its stay in the memory is short and ephemeral for there is so much excellence in Emilija that it entirely overrides the less congruous points Emilija between tendernrss and roughness and with the liveliness of each single moment seeks for the path to the spectator s notions of super temporality Where is Emilija Dnevnik Jedrt Jež The initial picture embraces the whole performance in one sweeping movement First the minimal in the opening scene it is entirely bare but absolutely effective point focused set design In the Muzeum theatre productions the space settings represents the fundamental basis which all by itself provides evidence of spiritual cosmos of those who enter it of its creator and last but not least of ourselves looking onto it It is of course a question of the similarity of spirit Within the embrace of events in the completely empty space of The Cricket and Lo Scrittore which only appear to be static their

web of the utterly banal world strikes into the gentle natural world pictured by the playfully disordered clouds in the summer sky The original is unrecognizable and is at this very instant kneading a dough with her new kitchen appliance kneading a dough for yet another copy The original is dead so to speak Its only option for reanimation is an imagined not technical reproduction of the empty the already seen and ultimately labelled names forms images through which it might speak a least as a principle if it is buried under the rubbish of anxiety of the unnatural as an individual The original can only breathe through Ophelia s lungs so to speak This is a faltering and an extremely unsure breathing but the only one possible In conclusion which I append to the review of the performance with as much attachment let me stress the fantastic stage interpretation of all the four actresses espacially their truly extraordinary expressiveness The stage language is allocated with a sense of rhythm and detachment that function perfectly and are even more importantly polished to the last detail A resume for those who always bother to read nothing but the last line an excellent incredibly aesthetic show A must Radio Slovenija 1 Tadeja Krečič As early as in the beginnin the audience is spontaneously introduced into a special form of theatre narrative resigning themselves to a cours of elaborate and purified images to a variety of voices and a host of words transposed from teh original context into a new one Indeed this seems to be the very level that the production is trying to effect and has been highly successful in doing so Parallel worlds Dnevnik Petra Pogorevc Refind visual image firm concept excellent stage production The fifth stage project by the conceptual theatre Muzeum is set in an anonymus modern office with an airy ambience of the purified sign and unobtrusively hinted scenery With melancholy music and glowing clouds projected on a vast screen in the background the introductory scene draws the audience s attention for a while to a picture of four women sitting in their isolated working cells This visual background matrix is than replaced by the facade of a huge business building The lirical beginning is shifted aside by a disciplined stage presentation of working routines in the form of elegantly and unassumingly performed tiny rituals repeatedly done by the actresses sitting at the computers inside their mobile metal constructions This is an earthly world yet its uniformity makes it expressly abstract too On the visual level it is evoked with the use of black white and several hues of grey while on the level of sound it is supported by mechanically interwined hackneyed phrases and synthetic music rhythms However right before the spectators eyes running parallel with the first one there opens another world it is bathed in a blue light let us recall Emma Bovary her reveries shone in numerous hues of this very colour while
