    s way to smart specialisation The ideas from this conference were further developed on a two day workshop in May focusing on social innovations and traditional industries in the plan Strategy for the Smart Specialization of Slovenia led by Darko Ferčej from E Zavod The co creation of a coworking space together with the community is the secret of successful user friendly coworking spaces As only 600 euros were available for the furnishing of the entire area many architects and designers who now work in these offices helped with it Oliver Marlow the co founder of the London agency Tilt which is specialised in furnishing coworking spaces offered a helping hand in March he first shared his knowledge on the subject on a lecture and the next day led a workshop where Residents tried to create the development plan of Poligon s infrastructure The April and May project called Poligon v Poligonu is the newest project of the Residents interaction with the space More accurately this is a social choreography a co production of Poligon with the Contemporary Dance Network led by dancer and choreographer Dejan Srhoj The main idea of the project that is being realized through workshops with the Residents is the study of the space with the purpose of making a series of exercises Made after the model of physical grounds and trim paths these exercises would enable the Residents to stretch and relax while working Among the most interesting events periodically taking place in Poligon are the Fear Fail meet up demystifying failed start ups of entrepreneurs over lectures and relaxed evenings playing board games In May regular monthly meetings of the developers in Ruby programme language will start taking place What is important is that Poligon also takes great care to inform younger generations in the last week of May we will be hosting the PKP Event Pogumni Kreativni in Podjetni Brave Creative and Entreprenaurial organized by Ksenja Perko and Matej Feguš and meant to encourage high school students to start developing entrepreneurial concepts In March we have been visited by teenagers who have abandoned formal education and participate in daily activities at PUM organized by Zavod Bob They were introduced with several different ways of developing their commercial idea as resourcefulness and creativity are often more important in entrepreneurship than formal education Poligon is also aware of the importance of the issue of intellectual property in the field of creative economies so it has formed a partnership with the Intellectual Property Institute of Dr Maja Bogataj Jančič In May Poligon is helping with a project of the Slovenian Pirate Party which is organising a discussion about the reforms of copyright laws Since Poligon has been opened many useful things have happened there for the community who co works in the creative centre daily as well as for the other individuals and communities who operate in the fields of creative industries social entrepreneurship and culture There are many reasons to be optimistic about it as

    from everyday life such as walking around town public water public space hidden crafts designing life getting to know food systems of fashion accessible life and the like The main prize awarded by a jury consisting of one of the most important Slovenian industrial designers Saša J Mächtig the world renowned designer Konstantin Grcic and the internationally established design commentator Alice Rawsthorn will for the first time be awarded for best collaboration After the initial processes of getting to know one another and harmonising their perspectives the work of individual groups commenced at full speed First with the use of digital communication pathways such as online social networks Skype and the like and afterwards with meetings of individual groups at MAO With its connections rooms and capacities partnerships practical and theoretical knowledge and established practices MAO offers them full support By doing so it ensures a smooth natural process of an exchange of ideas that strive towards a search for new unexpected and innovative concepts approaches and of course products among artists with different geopolitical backgrounds to be used in current designer and broader social circles And if the museum is a hub that enables the creation of these novelties then this new hub benefits the museum among other things with the already established and newly formed partnerships between notable domestic and foreign media such as RTV Slovenija Uncube and Designeast Cooperation with Companies It happens far too often that such attempts at conceptual conversations remain at the theoretical level or trapped within the boundaries of their creation Hence MAO and BIO have brought a number of partners from various industries in its hub as the leading partners of the entire narrative the Regional Development Agency of the Ljubljana Urban Region and its Regional Centre for Creative Economy the companies Eles Riko and Petrol and The Creative Industries Fund NL At the biennial an important segment of individual groups is occupied by companies and organisations with their concrete actions in the sense of material procedural and practical support These include Steklarna Hrastnik the Regional Development Agency of the Ljubljana Urban Region with the Regional Centre for Creative Economy Tomos and Vodovod in kanalizacija Ljubljana The representatives of creative industries are thus given the opportunity to walk through the hub hand in hand with representatives of companies and experience the creative and conceptual processes and once again acquaint one another with the know how and the realisation processes This collaboration model is also supported by domestic and foreign state institutions such as the Ministry of Culture the City of Ljubljana Museums and Galleries of Ljubljana Museum of Modern Art and foreign embassies in Slovenia Dialogue with Visitors The products of creative industries are basically intended to be used by individuals By connecting and involving real people and their real living environments the MAO hub and the BIO hub within a hub are using events and workshops to motivate the groups of people for whom the end results are intended Quite a

    training and exhibition space and has hosted more than 100 public events In the winter of 2013 2014 we exhibited 10 prototypes developed in its first year by RogLab together with its programming partners The exhibition held in Ljubljana was called RogLab The Factory That Is Making Itself Its diversity reflected the wide range of subjects dealt with in the first year of RogLab s activity as well as the interest in testing the capacities of the rapid prototyping technology offered at RogLab s makers workshop The exhibition was followed by a public presentation of selected chosen prototypes educational architecture puzzles that resulted from research made on Slovene modern architecture in combination with the use of 3D technologies a modular gardening box which was designed in the framework of sustainable development and connecting with Slovene businesses games aimed at helping the decision making process in the field of cultural management a result of intensive research on cultural and environmental policies Social content was introduced by artist Marija Mojca Pungerčar with her artistic project called Socialdress About Work in the framework of a multiannual project a huge success was children s workshops in cooperation with Stripburger such as Živel Strip with David Krančan and a creative workshop for making puzzles with Matej Lavrenčič This winter RogLab hosted several speakers such as fashion designer Sanja Grcić on the precarious situation of fashion designers in a globalized world of fashion Carlos Bayod Lucini from Factum Arte studio in Madrid who presented a 3D laser scanner the Lucida 3D scanner designed especially for conservational use and who presented in a public debate his views on blurring the limits between digital technologies in arts and handcraft skills Besides the weekly programme for training for independent use of RogLab s machinery we have in May added another set of training for 3D modeling we have taken part at the first makers fair at the Trieste Mini Makers Fair we took part at the cycling event together with the Ljubljana bikers network to support the cycling culture in cooperation with the project by a newspaper company Delo called Adijo tovarna Goodbye Factory and biked along the paths of industrial stories At the end of May we have prepared a creative workshop for children for making a one string electric guitar in the framework of the secondary programme at the Druga godba musical festival and together with the company Aereform we have under the mentorship of multi talented Sašo Knez organised a workshop on composites where we have presented the process of making this state of the art material The research of current and futuristic contexts Together with Slovene and international experts we are diving into the matter of how to design a locally integrated revitalization of degraded areas what should modern cultural institutions offer how to constructively connect private common and public interests among others From a critical distance we try to find out what digital production technologies really offer and try to point out the advantages

    form the identity of the neighbourhood and must be written down This year the Savčan magazine will come out once every three months Lokalc A small space next to the post office and the bank is available free of charge to all residents of Savsko naselje for many different activities Lokalc is opened every day before noon and on Thursday in the afternoon as well There each passer by can find out about activities and events in their neighbourhood In the afternoons the space is available to different activities of the residents such as celebrating birthdays meetings of the local council workshops for children and even band practices The vision of the public space of Savsko naselje With the help of the residents a so called council of traffic has been established last December as a result of our findings that the relationship between traffic and the public space is the biggest topical issue currently left unresolved In collaboration with experts such as Irena Ostojič and Tadej Žaucer we have prepared a vision of the public space of Savsko naselje Our starting points were the initiatives of the residents gathered in the course of one year operating in the neighbourhood This vision includes suggestions for the regulation of motorized transport walkways and bike lanes a network of green areas and even parking spaces We hope that the document will serve as a relevant basis for all planners and decision makers during the preparation of official spatial plans as well as the division of functional land Community centre Every neighbourhood hamlet village or part of the city used to have its own community public space which enabled socializing this was usually a community centre an agricultural centre or a cultural centre All local clubs had their headquarters in such spaces although residents could socialize there informally as well At a series of meetings clean ups and other activities we will try to find out what this community public space is today We will discuss what it could contribute how it could operate in such a way so as to express the identity of the neighbourhood again and how it could offer that little something extra outside of our apartments which enables us to label living in a certain neighbourhood a quality life During the summer we will rennovate in order to start the Library of Things project in autumn in partnership with RCKE and MOL Socializing on Šerkova Street Organized by the MHP organization many different events for young people will take place on the playground at Šerkova Street during the summer Under the supervision of the Saprabolt organization a community garden will start flourishing Sava hill Super hill The Sava hill Super hill project started on the initiative of the late basketball player Filip Štemberger s mother Her initial idea was to rebuild the playground to commemorate her son but later this project went on to incorporate the rebuilding of the entire public space between Mislej Street and Linhart Street
